Do you have large pores that you’d like to get rid of? Although you can’t get rid of large pores completely, you can take steps to minimize them at home. Your pores may appear larger because of acne, oily skin, sun damage and makeup clogging your pores. Here are some steps you can take to minimize noticeable pores in your skin:
- Cleanse properly and exfoliate. Look for a gel-based cleanser if you have oily If you have normal or dry skin, you can try using a cream cleanser. Try our Complete Clarity Facial Cleansing Wash for a great gel-based cleanser that will be gentle and leave your skin moisturized. Remember to always avoid using regular soap or scrubbing agents on your face, no matter what skin type you have. Other tips for cleansing include always wash your face with warm water, massage the cleanser in circles for about 30 seconds, rinse thoroughly and pat your skin dry. For exfoliation, use a gentle exfoliator and avoid exfoliation altogether if you are experiencing an acne breakout. Make sure you always remove makeup before you go to sleep or you could clog your pores overnight.
- Next, you’ll want to moisturize. If you have oily skin, you’ll still need to moisturize to balance hydration in your skin or your skin may produce even more oil. Choose a light base moisturizer. Try a clay mask to tighten pores. Clay masks may help to remove oil, dirt and dead skin cells and achieve the look of minimized pores. You can use several times a week but avoid on days you exfoliate.
- Don’t forget to apply sunscreen because a reason for large pores could be sun damage. Apply at least SPF 30 daily, even when the weather is cloudy or cold.
- If your large pores have become an issue for you and at home treatments and care aren’t cutting it, you might want to see a dermatologist or skin care specialist for specialized treatments.
