How to Take Your Skincare from Summer to Fall

christie-brinkley-authentic-skin-care-autumn-part-2As the dog days of summer finally lose their war against fall’s crunchy leaves and brisk temperatures, now is a great time to update your skincare routine. While summer skincare is all about sun protection and controlling excess oil, autumn brings its own challenges. So when it’s time to pack away the tank tops and bring out your sweaters, don’t forget that your skincare routine may also need to change with the seasons.

Here is a quick guide that will help you transition your skincare routine from summer to fall.

Change Your Moisturizer

While mature skin may love summer’s humidity, fall’s cooler temperatures can take a toll. As skin ages, the cells naturally lose their ability to retain water. While humidity provides ambient moisture, windy fall days can actually carry moisture away from exposed facial skin.

If you’ve been using a lightweight moisturizer during the summer months, consider switching to a richer, creamy moisturizer that will provide protection and a lasting hydration. By ensuring that your skin is well hydrated, you can enjoy a more even skin tone, diminish the appearance of lines and wrinkles and slow down the development of new wrinkles.

Gentle Exfoliate

Exfoliation serves two purposes for mature skin: it promotes softer, more supple skin by encouraging a faster cell turnover rate, and it stimulates the production of natural oils.

Don’t Leave the Sunblock Behind

You may not be spending any more afternoons on the beach, but you still need to use sunblock on a daily basis. Even when the days become cloudy, ultraviolet rays from the sun can still reach your skin, causing damage to its cells and intensifying the signs of aging. By staying faithful to regular sunscreen application, you can ensure that your exposed skin stays protected.

By ensuring that your skincare routine adapts with the changing temperatures, you can enjoy beautiful skin throughout every season of life.

As an ex medical esthetician and makeup artist for tv/film of 10 years I have tried over the counter, and professional products for my skin. I absolutely love the Christie Brinkley “Uplift” cream for the neck and decollate area! Within the first application I could see results in my neck area. The texture became soft, and lines being moisturized. The cream is absorbed and just doesn’t sit on the skin. I imagine the molecules of the product are small and the density is such that it helps the absorption into the epidermis instead of just smothering the pores. Love it!

I tried your Recapture 360. It is great. I have had allergies to other products but not with Recapture 360
. I am very happy with the results. I will continue to use it. Thank you for a great product.
