When fall comes, the leaves start to change and so does your skin. This means you may need to change up your skincare routine or just give your skin a little extra TLC. Here are some ways that you may want to change up your skincare routine this month:
Add more moisturizing products to your skincare routine. As the weather gets cooler and drier, this means your skin may become drier as well. Add a cleanser that is hydrating and formulated for sensitive skin. Switch to a hydrating cream and use only in the evenings if your skin gets a little oily during the day. Hydrating face masks can also be helpful to get your skin back in balance.
Get a seasonal facial. Many salons offer seasonal facials and a popular one for fall is a pumpkin facial. The enzymes in pumpkins are very beneficial for your skin and it is also very hydrating.
Your skin might feel more sensitive as the weather changes from summer to fall. You might want to give your skin a break, exfoliate less often and have a few no makeup days. If your skin is feeling very different or you have some new skin concerns, you may want to visit your dermatologist for advice. They will let you know which products will be the most beneficial for your skin as well.
You may also be feeling the effects of the sun. You could have a new sunburn, sun damage or larger pores. Just because the weather is cooling down and the sun isn’t shining quite as brightly, you still need to wear sunscreen. Don’t forget the SPF every morning. If you feel like the sun has aged your skin, add a retinoid cream or serum to your daily routine. It can help with dark spots and wrinkles.
Colder temperatures can hinder circulation and can make your skin look dull. Look for products that contain antioxidants that can stimulate blood flow. Look for products that contain rosemary, ginseng extract, and peppermint. There is a new trend in gold face masks. Gold face masks are a fun way to brighten your skin and give it a sexy glow.
