The new year rings in new beginnings! It’s time to make big changes to improve your mental, physical, and spiritual health. However you decide to take on 2018, do what you can to stick to your resolutions all year long. Practicing good habits through repetition start to come naturally to you, and though it may be difficult at first, the new you will adapt eventually! Here are some tips to help you stick to your New Year’s resolution:
Leave affirmation notes around
Whatever your goals are, seeing them written down is one of the best ways to help you stick to them. Writing down goals eliminates any ambiguity, and clarifies what you’re working toward. Having reminders around the house or your office where you can see your goal written out can improve your chances of success. Along with that, leave encouraging notes around such as inspirational or motivational quotes can be very encouraging as well.
Surround yourself with positivity
Who you surround yourself with has a huge impact on the type of life you live. Check in with your closest friends who you know support your path to bettering yourself. It can even be an added level of motivation if you pursue your resolution with a friend–keeping each other accountable will keep you both on track.
Track your progress
Reaching small goals either daily or weekly can be a huge motivator. It’s also okay to experience failures along the way–the important thing is that you don’t let it stop you from pursuing your big goal. Few journeys are completed without a few bumps in the road!
Include in your schedule
By writing down a deliverable goal toward your resolution into your schedule, you’re more likely to accomplish it in the long run. If your resolution is losing weight, include gym time a few days a week on your “to-do” list. Investing your time in making yourself a better person is time well spent!
