You may have seen liquid and powder highlight products on the beauty shelves, but what are they and how do you use them? They’re being used by models and celebrities to fabulous result – check it out and see if it’s right for you!
These products come in powder, cream or liquid forms and can range from a golden light glow to a holographic, highly pearlized highlight. The more dramatically glittered highlights should be applied with a gentle hand and are more suited for evening and low lighting conditions. The ones offering a more subtle glow are better suited for daytime wear.
3D Highlighting can be used to add dimension to your face, accentuating and drawing attention to your best features and making skin look dewy and glowing. If you have wrinkles and crepiness, these products can either blur imperfections or draw attention to them, so use them carefully and use a good magnifying mirror to see the full effect when experimenting with it. If your skin is dry, you will probably want to steer clear of powder highlighters and stick with creams or liquids.
These products should be applied after the rest of your makeup, just to come in and add highlights to the areas of your face that are the high points – the bridge of your nose, your forehead, the apples of your cheeks, chin and the bow of your lips. Less is more! A light application is key and blend, blend, blend! Experiment and feel comfortable with this product before taking out in public and you could achieve a radiant glow that will be admired by many!
