10 Reasons Why You Should Try Apple Cider Vinegar

 

 

Apple cider vinegar (or ACV) is a great tool for the kitchen, but also for beauty and health.  Apple Cider Vinegar is made from fermented apple juice that’s then fermented again to become apple cider vinegar.

Here’s some of the reasons why you should try ACV:

 

  1. Healthier Cleaning
    Apple Cider Vinegar can be used around the house to clean! You can reduce the amount of possibly toxic chemicals in your home by replacing commercial cleaners with vinegar. Mix 1/2 cup of ACV with 1 cup water, then use it to clean microwaves, bathroom tiles, mirrors, windows, and more.
  2. Soothe Sunburns
    Next time you have a sunburn, try taking an apple cider vinegar bath. Adding 1 cup of ACV to your bath water and soak for 10 minutes to help discomfort from sunburn. If you don’t have time for a bath, try rubbing a 50/50 solution of water and apple cider vinegar on your skin and let it air dry.
  3. Aid in weight loss
    Some studies have shown that adding apple cider vinegar to your daily routine may help to shed some pounds. For people with blood sugar problems, it may help to lower blood sugar levels. So the next time you are having a big or carb-heavy meal, try adding 2 teaspoons of ACV to 16 ounces of water. You can also drink it once a day for general benefits.
  4. Helps improve digestion
    If your stomach is feeling a little off, ACV may help to get things moving. The pectin in apple cider vinegar may help constipation. An easy way to add it is to have a salad with apple cider vinaigrette dressing; you get the benefits of fiber from the vegetables too!
  5. Maintain a healthier alkaline pH level
    Your body wants to be in a state of equilibrium, but sometimes with our modern lives we tend to be a bit too acidic, which may lead to a lack of energy and more sick days. To help maintain a healthy alkaline pH level, sip some ACV a few times a day for a natural boost of energy.
  6. Reduce heartburn and acid reflux
    Taking 1 teaspoon of apple cider vinegar followed by a glass of water may help to relieve heartburn. This won’t work if you have an ulcer though, it may just agitate it!
  7. Remove warts
    Soak a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar, then tape it onto your wart with a bandage or medical tape. Let it soak overnight, and the wart should fall off.
  8. Boosts immunity
    Besides for balancing your pH levels, ACV can also help boost your immunity if you’re already sick. Combine hot water, apple cider vinegar, lemon, honey, and cayenne pepper to help replenish minerals in your body and open up your sinuses.
  9. Treat acne
    Dab apple cider vinegar on your acne spots, and then leave it overnight for an easy, natural treatment.
  10. Hair Rinse
    Take an old shampoo bottle (rinsed out of course), and add ½ tablespoon apple cider vinegar with 1 cup of cool water. Pour it on your hair after shampooing to boost your hair’s body and shine. It’ll also help get rid of buildup and dandruff!
