There is no denying that Christie Brinkley looks awesome, for any age. But at 60, the long-standing CoverGirl looks better than ever! Brinkley accredits her graceful aging to diet, exercise, and a strict skincare regime.
Diet: Brinkley has been a vegetarian for many years, saying “I haven’t touched a piece of meat since I read a graphic description of Chicago’s slaughterhouses when I was 12. Over the years I’ve gone through all the varying phases, but currently I’m a vegetarian who doesn’t eat fish or dairy except for goat’s and sheep’s milk.” She also credits the luxury of having a private chef, who prepares fresh and healthy meals for her, including her favorite, brown rice with lentils, roasted red and yellow peppers, and fennel, with a sweet potato and a salad on the side.”
Exercise: Brinkley says she has always enjoyed the outdoors, and staying active. Her favorite activities include swimming, surfing, paddle boarding, yoga, cycling, and skiing. She also swears by her Total Gym, saying “It’s perfect for stretching and lengthening my body.”
Skincare: Christie admits that when she started modeling, she spent a lot of time tanning, but always protected her face from the rays. She now makes sure she applies SPF every day, saying “The number one thing is protecting your skin. “ Brinkley also says her routine is “very simple” and that the key is exfoliating daily…” I’ve started every day for the past 40 years exfoliating,” says Brinkley. Her reasoning behind it? “Way back at the beginning of my career, I remember reading something that said men always look five years younger than women of the same age because they shave every day.”
